As it turned out, the mansion was built by the Stirn family, a direct descendant of the Roebling family of bridge building fame. Since most of the windows were of a simple grid design, we introduced a medallion series to be superimposed on the original grid design. This integrated the future artwork to the original surroundings. Since the lady of the house was an avid gardener, we included fruit and floral medallions for the dining room, vegetable medallions for the kitchen and parsley, sage rosemary and thyme in the breakfast area. All medallions are painted in the European method of hand designing, staining and enamel application.

During the painting of these medallions, the studio arranged for a state of the art glass painting kiln to be imported into the states. This amazing tool enabled me to greatly improve my methods and results in a very short time. Demonstrations of this tool, which has been specifically engineered with stained glass painters in mind, are available as mini classes in the New York studio by appointment.
